Gil Castillo serves as Managing Director of Retirement Plans at Altus Consulting Group and brings more than 25 years of experience working with business owners and plan sponsors. His focus is on helping employers design and manage retirement plans that support both the long-term goals of the business and the needs of their employees.
He is known for a thoughtful, hands-on approach and for making complex topics easier to navigate. Gil stays actively involved throughout the process, coordinating with clients and their advisory teams to help ensure decisions are implemented correctly and nothing falls through the cracks.
Before joining Altus as a partner, Gil served as Director of Retirement Plans at Platinum Wealth Solutions. Earlier in his career, he held roles with Capital Group American Funds, SWBC Wealth Management, and USAA, where he developed deep experience supporting retirement plans and working directly with business owners.
Gil is a San Antonio native and a proud Army veteran who served in the Persian Gulf War. He continues to stay involved in his community through organizations such as Children’s Rehabilitative Institute Teleton USA and previously served as Treasurer and Executive Board member of the San Antonio Public Library Foundation.
He is a life member of the San Antonio Livestock Exposition, a member of the National Association of Plan Advisors and remains active in his church community. In his free time, Gil enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife Michelle.
